So the first thing to understand is that bandwidth is a limited resource. “Unlimited” is no way near “Infinite”! All servers have a strictly defined maximum transfer speed, but, that is not the only bottleneck which may affect how much time a transfer takes. Speed disk, server load, CPU even computer buses and architecture!

So how do we sort all this out? How do we know someone has decided to limit you and your eagerly awaited download? We know, it is complex and confusing!

Our pledge is this: WE don’t apply throttling to bandwidth or speeds. But we cannot assure others do place some speed bumps. We have battled with this on several cloud providers.

We recently have a case of even Google Drive limiting speeds to uploads! Users saw their transfers slowed down so much, it appears stuck in 0%! It seems that collectively users have uploaded so much we appear to have run into an automatic wall! When we tested the same in other servers, the uploads went right through! We are still testing and investigating this issue…

Also, some others clouds have either a speed limit, or put up a limit after some uploads have gone through ( *cough* *pCloud* )…

Downloading also have problems: Torrents not well seeded, or the seeds have stretch out so thin that they give very few speed to those connected. We know it’s not a limit in our servers: We sometimes get some torrents that are so well seeded, with so much bandwidth it takes the full server bandwidth at a time! Even internet web servers have speed limits, so it is not assured to be the fastest just because they are on the cloud.

So well, that is why plans revolve on TORRENT SIZE! (Good luck having other torrent providers that will effectively download those monstrous 2 TB torrents… others won’t say, but just don’t let you download stuff over 150 GB!) WE know that specifying up front what you can do lets you plan effectively.

So what is cloud Torrenting? It’s the service that lets you download, transfer, save or copy files that exist in a Torrent swarm to either directly download, or save to a cloud drive, all working in the ‘cloud’ , or Internet servers independently of your personal counter and/or Internet connection.

This service allows you to specify which torrent you want, by either of three ways:

• Torrent file, a file with extension .torrent
• A magnet link, which starts what looks like an URL: “magnet:”
• A hashid, which is the unique identifier of the torrent.

We support all methods, and we add three other ways:

• A URL which points to a torrent file
• A URL which has torrent files or magnet links in it.
• An RSS link, which is parsed for torrent files and magnet links

Our service then downloads the torrent files and makes it available to download via web, or is transferred to your cloud drive. This all is being done on our servers. and you can even disconnect or shutdown your computer or mobile. You can later retrieve the files anytime you want.

So it can be a bit confusing to see may fields and buttons, but it really is very simple, just follow the next guide:

• You have a Magnet Link
• An link to a torrent file
• A link to a webpage which has Magnet links or Torrent files

Paste it to the first field and press the ‘Magnet or URL of Torrent button.

If you have:

• A torrent file

Press the ‘Choose File’ button, select the torrent file, then press the ‘Upload Torrent File’ button.

If you have:

• A link to a website with direct link to many files.
• A link to an ‘Index of’ page.

Enter it on the third field and press the ‘Web URL’. The website will try to download all files on that page and save it to a folder with the name of the site. Please avoid entering top level URLs, as it will try downloading everything on the website and will likely fail.

And if you have:

• A link to a Video file
• A link to a YouTube video
• A link to other video hosting site

Put the link on the fourth field and press the ‘Video URL’ button. Our website will try to detect the video file and download it to a handy file you can save or transfer to your cloud drive.

One of the most important indicators of activity happening is the ‘Progress’ indicator, which marks how far something has happened.

In our website, the ‘Progress’ column is updated in two cases: How far the files have been downloaded, and how much has those files been uploaded to the cloud drive. This can be seen depending on the ‘status’ of the download.

So, if you download directly to the server local space, it is straightforward: Progress climbs from 0% to 100%.

But if the file is se to be uploaded, the status changes from ‘Downloading’ to ‘Transferring’, where the Progress resets to 0% and begins climbing again to 100%.

But, there are some cases when the server cannot accurately describe the Progress in percentages because it does not know the total file size. In this case, the progress report shows the total size downloaded to the moment.

We previously had different way of counting progress, where it could go beyond 100%, because the cloud drive had rejected a piece of the upload and did a retry. We decided this became confusing to users, so we reverted to just an absolute percentage. Also, there are some edge cases where calculations if file size might be off, and uploads finish with 99%. This does not mean the file was truncated at the last piece, just that a rounding error might have occurred. We have fixed it to some extent, so this is pretty rare now.

If you see incorrect or confusing progress status on finished downloads please contact support.

We keep striving to better your download experience. We have added more servers, and more server cache space. This allows us to download faster and keep the waiting time the lowest ever!

What is server cache? Well, it’s space on the servers which keep the most popular torrents. It also tends to keep the most recently downloaded torrents on file, so if you want to redownload a torrent, just add the same link and it will appear almost instantly!

One of the features frequently requested is the ability to upload files to a Google Drive’s Team Drive. This are shared spaces where multiple users can upload files, and is separate from the users personal files.

We are happy to announce we now support uploading directly to a folder inside a Team Drive. Add first your gDrive cloud, then click the ‘Add’ button to add a savepoint. On this page, there is a new button, ‘List Team Drives’ which will show your list of your available drives. From there you can browse our specific folder you want, and you can then set it as destination for your uploads.
